About the Event
The mantra for the throat chakra is “ham” (pronounced hum). Mantra dance, where we weave together sound (ham) and movement is a practice which is inspired by Tibetan culture, where monks carry out mystical rituals combining chanting with delicate movements of the body.
The element associated with the throat chakra is ether.
In ancient times ether was known as the fifth element. It is the non-physical field of subtle vibrations around us. Ether represents our transition to the spiritual world and is no longer directly related to the physical world. Jung describes ether as the substance of which angels are made of and also the substance of sound. He says that the music of the spheres and the heavenly chorus remind us of this.
